MEGADETH's MUSTAINE Says 'Endgame' Is 'Probably Better' Than METALLICA's 'Death Magnetic'

March 29, 2010

Jarret Keene of the Tucson Weekly recently conducted an interview with MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine. A couple of excerpts from the chat follow below.

On the renewed power of MEGADETH, which now includes guitarist Chris Broderick (ex-JAG PANZER, NEVERMORE):

"The guy's an unappreciated genius and has taken us to a whole different place. I feel like we're just starting to scratch the surface as far as what this band can accomplish musically, and where we can go."

On the fact that reviews of MEGADETH's new album, "Endgame", have been tremendously favorable, especially compared to the latest reviews of Mustaine's ex-band METALLICA's 2008 release, "Death Magnetic":

"Our record is probably better than theirs. But I'm already looking ahead to what else we can accomplish. I'm not thinking about who we're beating."

On the current "Rust in Peace 20th Anniversary Tour" during which MEGADETH is performing the 1990 album in its entirety:

"It's a moment for us to revisit and appreciate ['Rust']. It's a great work of art; there's no denying it."

Video footage of MEGADETH's March 21, 2010 performance in Atlanta, Georgia can be viewed below.
